Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. was founded on the campus of Indiana University
on January 5, 1911. The Fraternity's fundamental purpose is achievement in every field of human endeavor.
Fashioning achievement as its purpose, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. began uniting
college men of culture, patriotism and honor in a bond of fraternity. The founders sought a formula that would immediately
raise the sights of black collegians and stimulate them to accomplishments higher than they might have imagined.
MU OMEGA chapter at Sonoma State University was founded on March 21, 1987.
Its mission is leadership, community involvement, and achievement in every field of human endeavor.
It should be noted that Kappa Alpha Psi was the first nationally recognized
fraternity to be chartered at Sonoma State University and boasts a 100% graduation rate on campus.
